Professional Advice To Follow While Purchasing Modern Electric Impact Wrenches

Impact wrenches can be powered in a number of different ways .  Some of the options include manual operation, battery, electricity, and compressed air.  When an impact wrench uses compressed air for its power it is known as a pneumatic wrench.  Impact wrenches use a bit or socket that is used in a similar fashion to a screwdriver.  Rather than putting a blade into a depression an elecrtic impact wrench covers the head of the bolt or screw.

With a manual impact wrench the socket is placed on top of the bolt or screw and then a hammer is used to hit the other end of the wrench while you are holding it down.  The wrench will take the power form the hammer impact and turn it into a turning motion to loosen the bolt or screw.  While the method may take a while this is a satisfactory way to loosen a stiff bolt.

Electrical and pneumatic impact wrenches work in an analogous fashion, though they are far quicker and simpler to use.  When the trigger of the tool is pulled the little hammers inside the wrench make a rotary motion.  With an electrical or pneumatic impact wrench the majority of the work is done for you, in a lot less time.

There are many different uses for an electric impact wrench.  An impact wrench needs to be used properly to avoid cross threading.  Someone who is new to using an electric impact wrench can simply over torque a bolt or nut if they don’t know when to release the trigger.  It is a smart idea to hand tighten the bolt or nut before using an impact wrench to help prevent this problem.  Some electrical impact wrenches include torque control which stops the machine automatically when it reaches the correct torque.  If the model you are using does not have that then you’ll need to go slowly and check the torque often .
